About The Distortion Project

The Distortion Project is Belfast’s leading heavy metal concert promoter and tour booker, specialising in both national and international touring acts, as well as fostering and promoting Northern Ireland’s burgeoning and diverse Heavy rock and Heavy Metal scene.

As well as having hosted some of the biggest names in metal (to include the likes of Entombed, Carcass, WASP, Sabaton, Cannibal Corpse, Ministry, Raven, Napalm Death, Armoured Saint, Katatonia and many more) I also run a series of weekly gigs, entitled “rocKD”. These shows take place more-or-less every Saturday in The Limelight 2 (and occasionally the Voodoo) in Belfast. Featuring 3 or 4 acts each week, rocKD has become a central fixture in the Northern Irish metal gig calendar. These shows run between 5pm and 9pm every week, and admission prices vary depending on the bands but I like to keep them as cheap as possible in order to make them affordable for all. Bands interested in playing one of these shows, use the contact page to get in touch or use any of our social media outlets. Alternatively, e-mail the_distortion_project@hotmail.com for consideration. I’ll look at any band – big or small – for shows in Belfast and can help secure gigs in other parts of Ireland as well. Get in touch an I’ll see what I can do for you!

I also run the franchise for the Bloodstock Festival Metal 2 the Masses Northern Ireland competition. This event takes place in the first 4 – 5 months of each year and gives one band the chance to win a coveted spot on the NEW BLOOD STAGE at Bloodstock – the best Heavy Metal festival in Europe. In recent years the competition has expanded to include additional prizes such as video and photo shoots, studio time, travel expenses paid for the winner, t-shirts, bespoke PR campaigns and more. For more information on this visit the Metal 2 the Masses Page here.

The Distortion Project also currently manages 4 bands from Northern Ireland – RABID BITCH OF THE NORTH, SKYPILOT, SINOCENCE and THE CRAWLING. I look after their tour booking, tour management, recording planning schedules, press, PR, marketing, merch, and a range of other activities. For information on these bands click on the Management page. To enquire about availability for shows, schedule and interview or any other query e-mail me at the_distortion_project@hotmail.com.
